Why become a member of TAPT?
When you join TAPT as a member at the Active, Associate, or Business Associate level you become a part of a professional organization with a rich history and a membership that is involved in all facets of safely transporting students. Which membership is right for you?
Choose the level of membership that best meets your employment status and industry affiliation.
Your membership can be transferred if you change employers.
Memberships may not be upgraded from one level to the next. To change membership levels, a new application and membership fee is required.
TAPT memberships are valid from July 1 through June 30 each year. Memberships cannot be transferred from one membership year to the next.
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation does not use any portion of membership fees for the purposes of direct or indirect lobbying activities.
Business Associate
$80 / year
Open to individuals connected with pupil transportation in a supply, maintenance, vendor, or technical advisory capacity; or are corporate staff, marketing, or sales personnel of contracted service providers. Business Associate members have access to members only resources and benefits and are eligible to vote for or hold the office of Business Associate Director. Business Associate Directors are not eligible to obtain Professional Certification through TAPT.
Associate
$25 / year
Open to individuals who are Texas public school district personnel (other than those designated as active members), state agency and Education Service Center personnel, or contracted pupil transportation service provider personnel not employed directly by a Texas public school district. Associate members have access to members only resources and benefits but are not eligible to vote or hold office. Associate members are eligible to obtain and maintain Professional Certification through TAPT.
Active
$50 / year
Open to individuals who are employed in Texas public school districts and are directly involved in pupil transportation. Active members have access to members only resources and benefits plus the ability to vote and hold office. Active members are eligible to obtain and maintain Professional Certification through TAPT.
Honorary Lifetime
Complimentary
When an active member retires after a minimum of five consecutive years of membership in good standing in TAPT, they may apply to become an honorary member. Honorary membership applications are approved by the Executive Committee. Honorary members shall be entitled to all the privileges of active members except they shall not be permitted to vote or hold office. Honorary members are exempt from paying dues. Once Honorary Lifetime membership has been granted, the member will no longer qualify for any other level of membership.
