My Name is Laura Villanueva and I am running for the office of Historian for the 2021-2022 school year with TAPT. This is my 25th year serving in the transportation industry in many different capacities.
I started my journey with Aldine ISD as a school bus driver and trainer. I then joined Houston ISD as a field safety officer/accident investigator. My journey continued to New Caney ISD as an assistant director.
Currently, I am the Operation Supervisor for Special Needs. I have chaired the Special Needs School Bus Roadeo at the Local, Regional, and State level, as well as judged on the National level.
I am involved with many different organizations ensuring our staff receives top notch training!
- School Bus Certification and Recertification Master Instructor (Region 4 ESC)
- School Bus Driver Trainer Academy Instructor (Region 4 ESC)
- Child Safety Restraints on School Buses Instructor (Region 4 ESC and TAPT)
- Operation Life Saver presenter
- Nationally Recognized Car Seat Technician
- American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
- Crisis Prevention Institute Instructor
- Certified Texas Pupil Transportation Official #811
I previously served on the TAPT Executive Committee as the Area 3 Director and Historian. I would appreciate the opportunity to serve this great organization again as your Historian, and will continue to make a positive impact for Texas and our industry.
