Josh Rice is the Sales Manager for Thomas Bus Texas, the Thomas Built Buses dealer servicing the entire State of Texas. He served the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) as President in 2021-22, and as President-Elect from 2020-21, and was the treasurer from 2018-2020. Josh has been involved in student transportation for over 20 years, serving as Director in Nacogdoches, Channelview, New Caney, Klein and Barbers Hill ISD. Prior to entering the vendor world, Josh was a Trainer Academy instructor, and certification instructor with TAPT, and earned his Trainer, Supervisor, Official, and Master certification through TAPT. In addition, he holds an NAPT designation as Certified Director of Pupil Transportation, as well as Certificate of Special Needs Transportation and continues to teach Professional Development courses with NAPT. Josh has presented numerous workshops over the years at the local, state and national levels. He can be seen all over the State of Texas, as he travels around to TAPT chapter meetings to meet with school districts and vendors! He graduated Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences, and from Abilene Christian University with a Master of Science in Organizational and Human Resource Development. Josh is a licensed nurse, and a Reserve Lieutenant in the Patrol Division with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He is married to Elissa, also a Director of Transportation for La Porte ISD and has 3 amazing boys, Kreegan, Dante, and Kashton!
