Angel Kersten currently serves as the Director of Transportation for Brazosport Independent School District, bringing more than two decades of experience in pupil transportation leadership. She has been an active member of the transportation industry since 2004 and previously served for nine and a half years as the Transportation Director for Angleton ISD.
Angel was honored to serve as President of the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) during the 2024–2025 school year and continues to support the organization as a Professional Development Instructor. Her leadership within TAPT reflects a strong commitment to advancing safety, compliance, and professional growth across the state of Texas.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ashford University, earned in 2011, and is passionate about all facets of building and sustaining a successful transportation department—from regulatory compliance and operational efficiency to training, mentorship, and team development. Angel looks forward to continuing her service in the transportation industry for many years to come.
In addition to her statewide involvement, Angel has proudly served the Gulf Coast Chapter for Pupil Transportation in numerous leadership roles, including Secretary, Vice President, President-Elect, President, and Past President. Although her formal tenure has concluded, she remains actively involved and continues to volunteer her time, particularly supporting School Bus Road-e-o events at the district, regional, and state levels.
Angel resides in West Columbia, Texas, with her husband, Raymond. She is the proud mother of three children and a devoted grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren.
